Payne let him push her gun down with no complaints 'your the only one'


Zack took the dishes 'ill do it' he smiled

"Is that weird of me then?" Genesis replied.



Madeline smiled, "Thank you"

Payne turned her head and looked down at herself, finally she held her arm out, flexing her muscles, it was pretty unnatural for a woman to be as built as her 'look at me, who would find that attractive?, yeah, so i go on about how women can be strong, maybe its because im over compensating for the fact that noone will have me' with that she turned around and kicked a piece of metal over the edge of the canon, watching it fall 'maybe.... maybe i play it up because i need something to drive me forward... instead of making me want to turn back... either way, i'll always be Love less'


Zack smiled and put them up for her 'no problem, what kind of man would i be if i didnt help out a cute girl like you'

Genesis stood up and held her shoulders with his hands "There is no hate, only joy For you are beloved by the goddess Hero of the dawn, Healer of worlds" Genesis spoke softly, "Ones man loss is another mans gain" he added as he gently lifted her chin with his finger.


Madeline smiled, "Thank you... i would of been fine doing it myself"

Payne had closed her eyes a tear ran down her cheek dropping from her chin onto his hands, she didnt even know why


Zack smiled 'well you dont need to be okay, ill do it for you' he grinned

Genesis quietly wiped her tear away.



Madeline smiled "I would of been fine"

Payne moved her head slightly, she knew no matter what she did now, hed know she had cried, hed know that she wasnt happy always being alone



Zack laughed 'i know you said'

"You dont have to be alone" Genesis replied, "Not with me" he stated before he hugged her from behind.



Madeline chuckled, "Yeah i did.. anyways you should be heading back" she replied as she moved into the room she was usualy in and she sat down at her desk.

this contradicted everything Payne stood for but she turned in his arms, and gripped at him, she had been so alone, for such a long time


Zack shook his head 'i wanna stay with you awhile.. we could take a walk if you wanted to? how about we go to the simulation room, Sephiroth gave me all the codes'

Genesis just hugged her gently not saying a word.



"I guess we can talk here" Madeline smiled, "What do you want to talk about?"

Payne stayed there for a little longer, but almost suddenly her eyes snapped open and she pushed him away, not hard, just pushing her hands against his chest, she was confused



Zack sat down 'i guess i wanna know more about you, more about SOLDIER first class.... more about the guys.... eh... and Payne? nahhh i can class them all as 'the guys' right' he laughed

Genesis looked down at her.




Madeline chuckled, "Ahh it would be better asking Angeal about this i do not know much.. i just basically heal cook and clean for them"

Payne closed her eyes looking down 'my soul, corrupted by vengeance... hath endured torment'


'well lets start with you then' Zack grinned

"I shall take away some of that pain.. if only to see a smile grace your lips" Genesis replied.



"Ermm well you know my name... i didnt use to work for the first class... i used to be just an army nurse working everywhere" Madeline replied thinking about what else she could say.

Payne didnt look up 'and why, why would you do that?'


'so you must be good then, first class nurse for the first class eh' Zack smiled

"Because i like you" Genesis replied.



Madeline smiled, "I heal using magic, i dont carry around potions i only use them in emergencies"

Payne sighed 'if this is about the machine gun, dont bother' she didnt believe that he would randomly say something like that, she half thought he was messing with her
and you, you stupid mug, crying, admitting that theres something to take the piss out of, well thats what you get for being wet


'ohhhh a white mage eh? thats pretty sweet, years of training?' Zack asked

"Dont think of me in such a way, im surprised you have no noticed the subtle hints throughout the time.



Madeline nodded.

'what subtle hints?' Payne asked, shed never noticed anything


Zack smiled 'well you must have worked hard to get where you are then'

Genesis sighed, "Always walking with you.. always finding an excuse to be by your side"




Madeline nodded, "I did"

'and here i thought it was my military prowess that kept you close' Payne stated



Zack laughed 'guess Payne was right, girls are tough yeah, well both of you obviously have'

Genesis shook his head.



"Im not tough" Madeline sighed, "Im actually quite useless... i can only heal"

Payne turned away 'my friend, the fates are cruel, there are no dreams, no honour remains... the arrow has left, the bow of the goddess' she half smiled looking back over the simulation water

'but havent you perfected that art and spent years training, that means your tough, look at how far you got, this isnt about being safe on battlefields its about following something you do and seeing it right through to the end, look at Payne, shes fought hard to get into the first class SOLDIER as a fighter, havent you fought hard to get here as a healer? fights arent all about whos the strongest' Zack stated matter of factly

"My friend, your desire Is the bringer of life, the gift of the goddess" Genesis replied.



Madeline nodded, "I know... but working with the first class SOLDIERS has made me realise how smal and fragile i really am" she sighed, "I worked hard to be a healer... but what good am i if i can only protect others but yet can not protect myself... i have tried so hard to learn self defence to at least protect myself just that bare minimal but i fail" she looked away.

'and what is.. the gift of the goddess?' Payne asked her voice softer than usual


'i'll help you, cmon right now, ill take you to the training room' Zack smiled standing up
