Second Chance

Hanae stayed quiet, she was unsure on what to say. What was she supposed to do now being here there was nothing for her to do.


Shunsui apologised and was given a new glass for which he drank more sake trying to drink his sorrows away. He glanced over at Renya.

Byakuya did and ordered for them.

the king sighed moving towards the door 'think about the danger you could have brought on us all'


Renya caught his eye while Byakuya was pre-occupied and gave him a small smile

Hanae sat down back at the window, why could he never just hug her and tell her everything is going to be okay. Why could he not just let go of his pride for one second and say something nice.


Shunsui looked away feeling even more depressed... like she was rubbing it in the fact she was over there with a child who could afford anything.

Byakuya smiled and grasped her hand within his.

the king sighed as he shut the door



Renya did not divert her eyes but she let Byakuya touch her hand, she just wanted to let Shunsui know she was thinking of him

Hanae sighed and looked back out of the window.


Shunsui finished his drink and stood up to leave swaying slightly it was clear he was drunk.

"And he is supposed to be a captain" Byakuya sighed looking at Shunsui.

the king sighed 'make sure she does not leave' he told Kyo before he moved off


Renya smiled slightly at Byakuya 'he is a brilliant captain... youll see when you go to the academy... Shunsui is excellent.. he was one of the first ever students with Ukitake'

Hanae placed her head in her hands this was going to drive her crazy.



Byakuya sighed as the food arrived and began to eat.

Kyo knocked on the door slowly


Renya ate slowly she would visit Shunsui after this

"Come in" Hanae sighed expecting it to be here father otherwise she would of said go away.


Byakuya ate slowly... this was nice to him.

Kyo opened the door slightly 'you okay?' he asked


Renya was thinking of Shunsui as she ate

Hanae sighed, "Why is it he never has anything nice to say to me?"



Byakuya soon finished.

Kyo slipped in moving over 'hes stressed... all the time'


Renya was not far behind him she wiped her mouth slightly on a napkin 'thank you'

Hanae sighed, "What am i supposed to do here now... i'm not a little girl that was easily amused with toys"



Byakuya nodded, "Its fine... want to come back to mine?"

Kyo smiled winking 'ill get you some bigger toys and sneak you into training with me eh.. hows that?' he knew the king would approve it if it kept her happy at home



Renya looked up at him 'ahh but Byakuya we should not sleep in the same house until we are married.... so we should part ways at the end of the date eh' she smiled she knew her way around it

Hanae smiled, "Like old times?"



Byakuya nodded, "Okay... see you tomorrow then!" he kissed her cheek and moved off to pay.

'ah ha.. and your dad will never know' Kyo grinned just trying to make her feel better


'goodnight Byakuya' Renya would wait for him to leave

Hanae smiled, "Thank you"



Byakuya waved and moved off home.

Kyo laughed 'anything for you'


as soon as he was out of sight Renya flashstepped to see Shunsui she knocked at his door

Hanae smiled and looked back out of the window.



Shunsui was asleep in his office so there was no answer.

Kyo rubbed her head 'get some sleep ill let you train with me tomorrow'



Renya sighed heavily he was ignoring her

Hanae smiled and nodded, "Of course"



Shunsui was still sound asleep.

Kyo smiled as he walked out closing the door



Renya flashstepped home to get ready to go to bed not feeling like doing much else

Hanae moved to get changed for bed.

Renya was soon changed and in her bed sighing... soon she had drifted to sleep

Hanae soon drifted off when her head hit the pillow. After that night a few days went past. Hanae barely left her room the rumors flew around the palace of her being depressed and love sick. Which were slightly true. She was once a happy and kind person but now she was the opposite happy... though still kind.


Shunsui had avoided Renya the best he could. He was depressed and began to drink a lot more. It was the afternoon in the Soul Society and yet again he was drinking in his office.
